A few years ago, I first came across Ms. Wang through a friend's introduction in a WeChat group, where they mentioned her and her 7Cs Leadership program. At that time, I found her to be a truly unique educator. While others aspired to enter the finance industry, she stepped out to become a teacher. While others taught STEM subjects, she focused on communication and other “power skills”.
As someone with a STEM background and little exposure to the humanities, I deeply understand the importance of power skills in the workplace. Seeing such an interesting and unconventional teacher, I decided to enroll my son in one of her classes to give it a try. From the very first session, I realized how remarkable Ms. Wang was. My son has been fortunate to learn from her since eighth grade and continues to benefit from her guidance.
Here are the reasons why I consider Ms. Wang exceptional:
Ms. Wang is truly passionate about teaching and treats education as her calling. She genuinely enjoys helping children identify problems and seek solutions. She puts great effort into uncovering each student's potential and helping them understand themselves better. I had always thought my son was a STEM kid, but Ms. Wang discovered his talent for writing and his interest in history, which was a huge surprise to me (so much for "no one knows a child better than their parents"! 🤦).
Ms. Wang’s unique background in both Chinese and American education, combined with her studies in economics, gives her a profound understanding of diverse cultures and the ability to bridge the strengths of both the arts and sciences.
Additionally, Ms. Wang approaches challenges like a STEM thinker—identifying problems and solving them through active effort. At the same time, she communicates like a humanities major, using precise and concise language to express her ideas. This allows her thoughts to reach and benefit more students and parents.
3. Finally, I deeply appreciate Ms. Wang’s timely communication. She understands the challenges parents face with teenagers and keeps me updated about my son. When she agreed to be my son’s college admissions advisor, I felt both happy and reassured. I trust her completely because I know she genuinely understands my son and takes her responsibilities seriously. Looking back, my son’s review of her guidance is that it was “very helpful.”
In this era where AI is increasingly shaping society, it is a blessing for children to have the opportunity to receive such dedicated guidance during high school. For me, meeting such a wise mentor who is both a teacher and a friend has been an incredible stroke of fortune. 🙏
If it takes a village to raise a child, 7Cs is a gem in our village. My daughter has been taking private and group lessons from Madeline to improve her writing and communication skills. Madeline is not a traditional instructor. She takes unique, personalized approaches to teach and mentor.
