An Exceptional Review

A few years ago, I first came across Ms. Wang through a friend's introduction in a WeChat group, where they mentioned her and her 7Cs Leadership program. At that time, I found her to be a truly unique educator. While others aspired to enter the finance industry, she stepped out to become a teacher. While others taught STEM subjects, she focused on communication and other “power skills”.

As someone with a STEM background and little exposure to the humanities, I deeply understand the importance of power skills in the workplace. Seeing such an interesting and unconventional teacher, I decided to enroll my son in one of her classes to give it a try. From the very first session, I realized how remarkable Ms. Wang was. My son has been fortunate to learn from her since eighth grade and continues to benefit from her guidance.

  • She genuinely enjoys helping children identify problems and seek solutions. She puts great effort into uncovering each student's potential and helping them understand themselves better. I had always thought my son was a STEM kid, but Ms. Wang discovered his talent for writing and his interest in history, which was a huge surprise to me (so much for "no one knows a child better than their parents"! 🤦).

    Additionally, Ms. Wang approaches challenges like a STEM thinker—identifying problems and solving them through active effort. At the same time, she communicates like a humanities major, using precise and concise language to express her ideas. This allows her thoughts to reach and benefit more students and parents.

  • We were nearing the end of our daughter’s junior year when I bumped in Madeline. I had known Madeline from a few years back when our daughters danced together. I was updating her on how life had thrown our family a curve ball and we were behind in the college process. She then proceeded to tell me about her company, 7Cs Leadership, and how they could help us. It was the best decision my husband, daughter and I made.

    Right out of the gate she set our daughter up with a schedule for the end of her junior year and over the summer. The outline and dates were exactly what we all needed. It then didn’t appear to be so overwhelming. Sophia was able to tackle her items while checking in with Madeline. My husband and I met with Madeline to review our role in the process. What could have been an ultimate nightmare was now a guided process, all of us knowing our roles.

    Madeline helped Sophia research schools, flesh out what could work and what needed more information. Along the way, Sophia was then able to navigate this process on her own.     2024年秋季，我们的孩子也迎来了美高申请季。一开始，我们犹豫是否请顾问。毕竟我们曾有过美初申请的经验，我和孩子父亲的英文也尚可，更重要的是，我们希望孩子能借助这个过程回顾自身的成长，进行内在的反思，从而更加清晰地认识自己、明确未来的方向。再三权衡后，我们决定DIY，自己主导整个申请。

    整体来看，孩子需要在校内通过学业、体育与课外活动等维度努力展现自己，而在选校、文书和面试这三大申请关键点中，我们自信可以在选校与面试方面给予充分支持，唯独对美高文书的写作缺乏经验，略感茫然。

    从美初的经验来看，一篇优秀的文书从来不是比拼辞藻或句式之美，而是要以真诚打动人心。但真诚远远不够——一个初中生如何从有限的人生经历中总结出有深度的思考，并以令人信服的方式展现给招生官，是一项极具挑战性的任务。一位好的文书老师，既要能够引导孩子进行深层次思考、挖掘内心的真实感受，也要在高压的申请期中提供情感支持与正向鼓励。事后回望，我们深感幸运，能够遇到汪老师。

    与汪老师的缘分来自一位深受信赖的老朋友，这位朋友因其卓越的信息搜集与资源整合能力，在朋友圈中颇有口碑。他的孩子在2023年接受汪老师指导写作申请文书，最终顺利进入理想的顶尖大学。在朋友的推荐下，我们得以与汪老师相识，并在寻找文书老师的过程中一路顺利。

    初识汪老师时，得知她拥有咨询行业背景，我们本以为会遇见一位犀利果断的职业女性，没想到她说话温和，语气轻柔，让人如沐春风。深入接触后，我们发现汪老师在温柔的外表下，是一位对孩子有坚定信念和教育理念的资深老师。我家的男孩正值青春期，虽然与我们父母关系融洽，却也不乏“钢铁直男”式的倔强和略显稚气的观察。若是由我和他父亲直接引导沟通，孩子可能难以真正放下心理防线，展开自由的思考。而汪老师却能真正成为他的朋友：她从不急于判断，而是耐心引导；她不急于写文书，而是陪他聊人生、聊成长。我们惊讶地发现，孩子每次和汪老师谈话时间都很长，聊得深入，甚至谈到了一些他从未与我们分享过的经历。这些记录中，我们看到了一个更真实、更立体的孩子。

    汪老师对教育有着清晰的理念，也拥有丰富的实战经验。很多美高的文书题目看似老套，学生很难写出令人眼前一亮的内容。有时为了标新立异，反而会偏离主旨。此时，一位有判断力的老师尤为重要。汪老师花费大量时间与孩子深入交流，准确把握孩子的思维与表达方式，并在关键节点给予点拨。最终定稿的文书不仅打动了我，甚至在申请结束后，我将其中一个故事分享给孩子的老师时，对方也深受感动。

    除了专业之外，汪老师的责任心更让我们敬佩。申请期间，孩子寄宿在美初学校，学业与活动安排极为紧凑，难以按计划定期与老师沟通。汪老师始终给予最大程度的包容与配合，包括感恩节、圣诞节期间，在原本可以休息的时间主动调整自己的时间表，支持孩子节奏。尤其在学校要求1月5日提交所有文书的最后时刻，汪老师全力以赴，确保申请圆满完成。

    最终，孩子收到了梦校的录取通知。在我们庆祝结果的同时，也满怀感激地回望这段旅程——它充满挑战，但也充满成长的喜悦。在整个过程中，孩子没有被“规划”，而是在汪老师的温柔引导下，经历了一段属于自己的思考与成长之路。这份收获，远比一纸offer更珍贵。
